1. She’s singing TWO notes at once

Polyphonic singing is something that most of us have probably heard of, but actually being able to do it is a completely different story. 2. What To Do Before Looking For Gigs

It’s all about the live performances. Most musicians might agree that the studio time is fun, printing custom merch is fun too, but the live shows are the best part. However, there’s lots of preparation that needs to go into your gigs, even before you book them. Deciding on your touring preferences, having your music in a digital format, and many other things must be considered prior to booking the gig.

3. SXSW 2015 Music Showcase Deadline!

The deadline for submission into the SXSW Music Festival is this Friday, October 10th! Last year, 2,300 acts showcased their music in the city of Austin, so there’s no reason why your band shouldn’t be next.

4. What To Do After You’ve Finished the Gig

After reading the article above, we now know how to prepare ourselves for gigs, but what do we do once the show’s over? Overall, you need to be courteous to everyone at the venue. Simple things like packing up your gear quickly, thanking everyone, and helping the sound guy all count towards getting a second gig.

5. Cover Band Success

In some ways, it seems much easier than being in an original band, but other aspects are definitely much more difficult. Regardless, cover bands are very different from original bands, so success will come from different practices. These 7 Fundamental Steps to Cover Band Success should help every single one of those Beatles cover bands out there.
