Enjoy live music at Asbury Fresh this summer! Asbury Fresh is a artisan and farmers market that happens twice a week in Asbury Park, NJ and since Bands on a Budget loves supporting our local musicians, we invited 10 different talented artists from New Jersey to perform each Thursday night at Asbury Fresh for the rest of the summer!
This Thursday night at 6pm check out Jamie Coppa from Middletown, New Jersey! Her latest release is the Atlantic EP and Jamie is often seen playing at her favorite local Asbury spots with her acoustic guitar or backing band, either way Jamie knows how to capture the spotlight! She also shares her incredible vocal talent by teaching music at Lakehouse Music Academy. Let's get to know more about Jamie.
Pop with some soul, and many influences.
Lauryn Hill is a stand out for me, but I can't limit it down. All Motown music rules...
The Saint and Wonder Bar are my top two. I've played most local shows at those two spots. Scott and the staff at The Saint have been super supportive of me since I first played there(and they're a riot), and Christine just has a killer thing going on at Wonder Bar... Always a solid lineup.
Every new record I grab is put on repeat. I suck at seeking out new music and I mostly listen to local bands, but a good example might be Pure Heroine by Lorde. I'm super inspired and interested I that little lady. I think the lyricism is beyond her time. There's something about her that I really connect with.
My microphone, of course. The guys in my band have a pretty ridiculous collection between them, but I'm only half privy to their prowess. They're exceptional musicians, I'm lucky they back me up.
If it was possible, I'd want to have a smoke with Bob Marley. The man shed peace and light around all those he touched with his music and that resonates with me.
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Under The Bridge. I remember being a young girl sitting in the backseat of my moms Ford Windstar minivan and that song played and it hit me right in the gut. I had just lost my dad around this time, and that song gave me solace. It soothed me when everything else was just passing me off. I've always said I'd get a tattoo with those words along my back. It's an elaborate idea but I'm a broke musician, so it's still on hold.
Hell yeah, the best
I love the soaps and scents, I grabbed myself some Luna Rayne earrings a couple weeks back, and I always grab some fresh food from Rolling Hills.
I admire all the jewelers and cute crafting, I'm just too lazy. If I had something , it would probably be in the wellness field. Some cannabidiol infused juice or something, I feel like Asbury is one of the few places around here ready for that. People here just get it.
