BOAB FEATURE BAND: Distance Defined

This weeks BOAB Feature Band is Distance Defined, a band from Alaska that is actually spread apart nearly 300 miles between members. The band is made up of Rollin Ritter from Kenai (lead vocals), Trevyn Days from Anchor Point (guitar/vocals), Trentyn Days from Homer (bass/vocals), and Tim Vinson from Wasilla (drums).
The band began nearly a year ago when Rollin posted an "ad" on a Facebook page "Kenai Peninsula Music" looking for a metal guitar player. Trevyn responded and sent him some songs which was well received. The problem was noted that everything would have to be done long distance. Without planning on making it so serious they all agreed to just play around and write some music. Trevyn started writing music every day and within a few weeks time they had about 3-4 song ideas that they started to work with
Both Trevyn and Tim had home studios. Trevyn would record a scratch track and send it to Tim via email who would then practice and write his drums parts. The same scratch track would get sent to Rollin so he could work on lyric ideas. Once songs started to come to life they figured they should try and play some shows which of course required some actual practice. Trentyn joined in when Trevyn asked if he wanted to play bass.  Tim drove 5 hours to their first "band practice" and right away they knew they had something.

That's all it took and the rest was history. They started playing shows, recording Their songs, and gaining local attention. After Their first show they were asked to open for a Grammy nominated band, August Burns Red. The show was amazing and we gained even more fans, selling our CDs and merch as well. Their CD just officially released on iTunes/Spotify/apple music/google play on June 19th. They LOOK FORWARD TO CONTINUING Their JOURNEY BY PLAYING MORE SHOWS, GETTING their MUSIC OUT THERE, AS WELL AS HOPEFULLY DOING A SMALL NORTHWEST TOUR.
upcoming shows:
7/1: Chilkoot Charlies- ANCHORAGE, AK
7/8: Valley Revival Festival at Wonderland Park- Wasilla, AK.
